Overview of the Costa Blanca, your next destination to call home:
The northern part of the Costa Blanca is known as La Marina and relates to the headland area which projects eastwards towards Ibiza, the easternmost point being Cabo de la Nao which separates Javea and Moraira. La Marina itself is divided into La Marina Baja (lower – to the south) and La Marina Alta (upper – the northern half). Both fall within the Province of Alicante and the region of Comunidad Valencia.
- La Marina Baja begins just north of Alicante at El Campello and coastwise extends to just north of Altea, then inland, along the mountain range commencing with the Sierra Bernia, extending west to the Sierra de Serella, a little beyond Guadalest.
- La Marina Alta encompasses most of the areas in which we specialise. In coastal terms this includes the resort towns of Calpe, Benissa Costa, Moraira, Javea and Denia to just south of Oliva. Inland this area extends to L’Orcha and encompasses the mountains and valleys of Jalon, L’aguart, D’Ebo, and Gallinera.
We offer a vast selection of properties for sale in Costa Blanca across these areas, so you can experience all the advantages of living in this beautiful region.
What else should you know about the Costa Blanca and our properties for sale?
At Select Villas we are experts in the Moraira area and its immediate neighbours, including Benitachell, Benissa, Teulada, Javea, and the stunning inland valley areas of the Jalon Valley. Our office is centrally located in the town centre of Moraira, and we pride ourselves on offering only the highest quality properties for sale in Costa Blanca.
GEOGRAPHIC NOTES: The Marina Alta Headland is a unique diamond-shaped region, with Javea and Moraira situated just above and below the easternmost point. Surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea on almost all sides, the area benefits from a moderate climate with milder winters and more temperate summers than other coastal regions.
On the left-hand side of the diamond, mountain ranges catch the rainfall, which then flows into the low-lying coastal areas via underground springs and reservoirs. Despite the relatively low rainfall, the region remains lush and green, and water shortages are exceedingly rare.
The area is served by two international airports – Alicante and Valencia, around one drive away.
