Select Villas has a long history of supporting college students with work experience which led to us creating an internship program in 2023 for university students seeking to gain a career specifically in the Real Estate Industry.

This year Lola joined the Select Villas team on a 3-month internship to gain valuable insights into the real estate industry while contributing to her studies.

From Belgium to Spain – A Unique Opportunity

Lola is a 20-year-old Real Estate student from East Flanders, Belgium, studying at HOGENT University. Inspired by her father's work in construction, Lola decided to pursue real estate for its blend of economics, law, and practical learning. When the chance arose to intern abroad, her love for Moraira, a destination she frequently visited with her family, made Select Villas her first choice.

Hands-On Learning in Real Estate

During her internship, Lola gained:

• Real-world experience in real estate transactions and client interactions.
• Skills in social media marketing, where her innovative ideas helped generate leads.
• Insights into the collaborative nature of the Spanish real estate market, contrasting with Belgium’s competitive approach.

Adapting to Life in Moraira

Although adjusting to the relaxed pace and speaking English and Spanish posed initial challenges, Lola embraced the local lifestyle. The sunny commutes and stunning coastal views were highlights of her time here. She also valued Select Villas' team-oriented environment, describing it as a "family-like" workplace where every role is vital.

Looking Ahead

This internship solidified Lola's ambition to work in real estate, equipping her with the practical skills and confidence needed for her future career.
